Knowing the ballistic data for your Ballistic Turret or long-range reticle is essential for a successful hunt. It’s not always easy to have all ballistic data in mind and remembering it while hunting especially when you own different rifle scopes or use different rifles. Learn in this article how to easily calculate the required values for your rifle scope with the SWAROVSKI OPTIK ballistic program and app at home or when you are out in the field.

Accurate ballistic calculator

The SWAROVSKI OPTIK ballistic program helps you to identify the individual aiming points for your long-range reticle and makes it easy for you to calculate the required correction values for your desired zero range distances for your BT ballistic turret. Entering your data in the ballistic program is the first step to configure your PBC personalized ballistic cam for Z6(i), Z5 and Z3 rifle scopes, your PXC personalized extreme cam for X5(i) rifle scopes and your PBR personalized ballistic ring for Z8i rifle scopes.

Bullet specifications are automatically loaded

For starting your ballistic calculations choose your rifle scope type and your specific ammunition out of a broad list with all popular bullets. All specifications are automatically loaded. In case you cannot find your ammunitions you can enter all specifications manually as handload as well. Enter your zero range and sea level. You can use the expert mode for inserting even more detailed data (e.g. atmospheric conditions...).

Detailed information about your reticle and shooting distances

Once you added all data you receive detailed information about the individual aiming points for your reticle and about the number of clicks for your Ballistic Turret.

Create your PBC personalized ballistic cam, PXC personalized extreme cam or PBR personalized ballistic ring

SWAROVSKI OPTIK has developed an additional, custom-made ballistic cam for Z6(i), Z5, Z3 and X5(i) rifle scopes and a ballistic ring for Z8i rifle scopes that are equipped with the ballistic turret. The personalized ballistic cam and ring make shooting simpler and more reliable.

Configuration of your PBC, PXC and PBR

With the online ballistic program it’s easy to configure your PBC personalized ballistic cam, PXC personalized extreme cam and PBR personalized ballistic ring:

1. Select your rifle scope and ammunition and enter your desired zero range.

2. In the results select the tab for the PBC, PXC or PBR.

3. Individualise the texts on your personalized cam or ring.

4. Contact your SWAROVSKI OPTIK dealer for ordering your personalized cam or ring with your preferences engraved on it.

Calculate your data online or with your smartphone

The SWAROVSKI OPTIK ballistic program is available online on ballisticprograms.swarovskioptik.com. Additionally the ballistic program is available as app for your iOS and Android device. The online program and both apps are for free.

Always remember: You are responsible for the shot that you fire

We would like to make you aware that, while the ballistic program provides valuable support for long-range shooting, you must assess the situation yourself and you are ultimately responsible for the shot that you fire. To be able to benefit from the chance to take an accurate long-range shot, you are always recommended to use a rangefinder to calculate the exact distance. Having the right equipment, combined with practiced techniques that inspire confidence will help ensure your success.

Dear Brett, Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately it's not possible to retrofit our AV 4x12-50 rifle scope to use it with ballistic turret. Best regards, the SWAROVSKI OPTIK Social Media Team

I have an older AV 4x12 50mm riflescope. Can it be retrofitted to use the ballistic turret? If so, where do I send this scope? Thank you.

Needs to be a barrel length in the calculation screen. I hunt with a 16.5 in 308 and the calculator is set for a standard barrel length. It gets me close but I have to do a lot of adjusting to get it perfect.
